Friends of Westwind Meeting Video

Friends of Westwind Meeting November 16th, 2005

Is the council failing its responsibility to maintain Westwind for the benefit of the Town? Over the years we've all heard stories about how the wait list for stalls was maintained in secrecy and how some Town residents felt they were passed over for non-residents. We've heard how residents would get the horses of their trainers into the Barn before residents, and so on. As far as we know, the Friends have tried to clean up their act, and are actually displaying the current wait list. If anyone has any complaints about how they were treated, please forward the information to the Hills2000 Webmaster. If you wish, we will keep your name confidential.

The following video is a regular Friends of Westwind Board meeting.

Members of the Board appearing from left to right are: Sue Chou, Susan Lam, Susie Holic (non-resident, acting Secretary), Sharon O'Malley, Sara Fisher (non-resident and 4-H liaison), Harry Bahlman.

The people appearing in the audience include: Town residents and members of Friends of Westwind: Val, Jane, Zsuza, and Ann; and non-residents and members of Friends of Westwind: Edie, Diana, Amy, Therese, Sharon, and Nanci.

Just a word of background going into this meeting. Recall that in the October 26th meeting, Judy Hill was acting barn manager as well as a board member. She was subjected to an unrelenting criticism from one member of the audience, and was not backed up by the board. Subsequent to that meeting, Judy resigned, and then several days later attempted to recind her resignation.

This meeting begins with an inpassioned plea by Holic. It turns out that the topic is a website that was put up by Robert Hill (Judy's husband). The Friends Board clearly wants this website taken down, and various alternatives are discussed to make that happen. In order for Hills2000 members, and our readers to understand the problem, we copied the www.westwind.com website as it appeared on November 16th. Due to the differences between our server and the Robert Hill server, some of the page features are not operational, but the content is complete. See Robert Hill website, cached on November 16. We note that the topic of staff quarters, which is shown on the Hill website, was brought up to the Board during Guest Topics (public input), that a family living in two rooms, no windows, no bathroom, was not a desirable situation.

If the Robert Hill website is still up, it's link is www.Westwindbarn.com. The Friends of Westwind website, under construction but still quite good, is www.Westwindbarn.org.
