Friends of Westwind Meeting Video
Friends of Westwind Meeting May 31st, 2006
Is the council failing its responsibility to maintain Westwind for the benefit of the Town? Over the years we've all heard stories about how the wait list for stalls was maintained in secrecy and how some Town residents felt they were passed over for non-residents. We've heard how residents would get the horses of their trainers into the Barn before residents, and so on. As far as we know, the Friends have tried to clean up their act. If anyone has any complaints about how they were treated, please forward the information to the Hills2000 Webmaster. If you wish, we will keep your name confidential.
The following video is a regular Friends of Westwind Board meeting.
Members of the Board appearing from left to right are: Caesar Bisono(Barn Manager), Zsuzsanna Molnar, Susie Holic (non-resident, acting Secretary), Sharon O'Malley (president), Dan Alexander, Therese Kollerer (non-resident, acting treasurer).
The people appearing in the audience include: Town residents and members of Friends of Westwind:
Susan;
and non-residents and members of Friends of Westwind:
LeeAnn.
Of interest, at the beginning a question is raised about Patty Roche being placed on the ballot as a resident, since she lives in the unincorporated county with a LAH address. Aparently, the Board interprets having a "5 digit address" as sufficient to meet the lease requirement as resident.
Also of interest is the discussion of finances which occurs about 13 minutes into the meeting. As you recall, the Board passed their fee schedule without any thought as to expenses, well it turns out that they are losing about $1,000/month and this dosen't include such expenses as $30,000 for lower arena repair. They are also questioning the rates charged to 4-H, which many recall is a riding program for the handicapped, which the Town has supported since its inception as a contribution to the greater community.
You can listen/view the meeting in two multi-media formats. These
include a low speed video (56k modem), and (if you are watching on a Hills2000
