Why Have This Program?
Hills 2000, - Friends of the Hills recognizes the need for better understanding of the educational issues and choices in Los Altos Hills. Since the 2002 closing of the Bullis Elementary School by the Los Altos School District (LASD), the LAH City Council and many other organizations and groups have undertaken efforts to return a public education site to Los Altos Hills.
The time is now to make a difference in LAH public education.
There is a need for a Hills' candidate who lives in the LASD to run for the opening on the LASD Board. This program will encourage interested candidates to consider running for the open seat.
Guided by the LAH General Plan, recent city council actions are paving the way to partner with the Bullis -Purissima Elementary School Foundation to return a public elementary school to Los Altos Hills. Additionally, the site could serve as a needed community center.
The Educational Forum provides an opportunity to learn about all of the important public education issues facing LAH.
